Episode III Trailer

Some people can't wait until May 19, 2005 and the premier of Star Wars: Episode III. And if you're Ken Lawton, you can't even wait for the trailer to come out. So what does a good fan film maker do? Make your own! After all, there are a certain number of givens as to what has to happen, and Lawton portrays these hilariously in this short parody trailer.

The computer effects ain't bad either. I especially like the Headhunter skirmish with the TIE fighters. The Naboo cruiser, however, is far too plain and undetailed. It looks incomplete.

The sound is good and I love the effect of Lawton's choice of actors delivering these overly melodromatic lines and the dialogue is supported by John Williams' most melodramatic music. The timing works, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. This little piece acknowledges the old axiom that less is sometimes more.

And if you, like Lawton, really can't wait for Episode III to come out, he also has on his site a countdown timer that you can put on your own site. Check it out here.
